Maciej Mroczkowski, Knots in 3-manifolds

Maciej Mroczkowski (University of Gdańsk) Knots in 3-manifolds We will present different ways to study knots in 3-manifolds. Starting from classical diagrams for knots in R^3, we introduce different types of diagrams for knots in other manifolds such as surface times S^1, lens spaces and, more generally, Seifert manifolds. We will show how some invariants of knots can be obtained from such diagrams.
