Edge properties of space, laboratory and fusion plasmas

Methods and results of a research on edge properties of plasmas in a wide range of plasma appearance in nature, laboratory research, technological applications and fusion development will be described. Theoretical models, numerical solutions and computer simulations, obtained with previously available and currently developing numerical codes based on fluid and kinetic approaches, will be shortly elaborated. The most important physical problems to be solved via mathematical, numerical and computational means in near future, and challenges for dealing with such problems for a physicist oriented towards either fundamental and applied science development or/and technology and engineering applications, will be presented and discussed.
