Iron based high - temperature superconductors

Prof. Peter Prelovšek, Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za matematiko in fiziko & Institut Jožef Stefan

One of the hottest subjects in the solid state physics in last three years are iron pnictides, which are superconducting at high temperatures exceeded so far only by the family of copper oxide compounds. The general phase diagram including the antiferromagnetic phase, anomalous normal-state properties and unconventional superconductivity reveal close similarities to cuprates, still important differences can offer an alternative perspective on the mechanism leading to high-temperature superconducitvity.
