Electron transport through nanoscale molecular systems
Prof. Daniel Kosov, Physics Department, Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium
The last decade has witnessed a remarkable miniaturization of conventional microelectronic devices and elements of microelectronic circuits may soon shrink to molecular size. The understanding of the fundamental mechanisms of quantum transport in molecule junctions as well as the interpretation of recent experimental molecular conductance measurements require the development of new theoretical/computational approaches to nonequilibrium quantum correlated systems. In my talk, I will overview the recent experiments and discuss theory of the electron transport through molecular contacts.
