Title: Stable minimal surfaces and holomorphic curves.
Abstract: A classical problem is to determine under which conditions an area minimizing submanifold of a Kahler manifold is holomorphic. Despite few positive well known results, due to Lawson-Simons-Siu-Yau-Micallef, the problem has "generically" a negative answer and many examples have been found. These results will be briefly described. In a recent pair of works with Jun Sun, we found a variant of this problem, where the ambient metric is not fixed a priori but is free to move, which seems to have a much higher chance of positive answer.
Seminar bo v predavalnici 3.06 na Jadranski 21. Vljudno vabljeni!
