Gavin Bierman: The Wonder of Cricket

Abstract: Marmite, warm beer, queuing politely for everything; many things from England seem bizarre or difficult to understand from the outside. Cricket is yet another example. In spite of this, in this talk I will try to dispel the myths and give you a basic grounding in the rules of cricket.

I have also claimed in the past that cricket can be an exciting game. I will attempt to justify these claims by explaining some of the highly skilled aspects of the game and some of the tactics employed.
