Date of publication: 7. 7. 2025
General news
The Machine Learning for Physics (ML4Physics) School concluded in Ljubljana, bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds for an in-depth exploration of cutting-edge machine learning topics applied to physics.

The event was organized in collaboration with several distinguished partners: the SMASH network, the COMETA COST Action, the SMARTHEP European research network, the Jožef Stefan Institute, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ljubljana.

The school offered a rich and diverse program. During the first three days, activities were held in two parallel sessions - one focused on the fundamentals of machine learning, and the other on real-time applications. The second part of the program featured plenary sessions with an emphasis on data analysis and physics use cases. Among the highlights of the school were the keynote lectures by Uroš Seljak (UC Berkeley) and Nenad Tomasev (DeepMind).

The school hosted 55 participants, including 47 from abroad, along with 11 lecturers and tutors. The event provided an exceptional opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and building bridges between the fields of artificial intelligence and physics.
