Neutron induced reaction cross sections: production and usage

Povzetek / Abstract:

Nuclear data comprise information about nuclear reactions and radioactive decay, i.e. event probabilities, reaction/decay product yields and energy/angle distributions of outgoing particles. Nuclear data support a wide variety of applications, e.g. nuclear fission and fusion, accelerator physics, medical physics and astrophysics. Evaluated nuclear data are produced based on combined knowledge from available theoretical and experimental data. After processing, formatting, verification and validation, nuclear data finally reach the end users. An overview will be given with emphasis on production and utilisation of neutron induced cross section data, and author's contributions to this process.
