... simply because the electric current --- the current density flux --- does not have direction (it is a signed scalar, not a vector). Consequently, invoking the self-contradictory concept of current direction necessarily leads to inconsistencies as, for example, Kirchhoff's current law, the
resistance rule, and Lenz's law. In the seminar we will investigate an approach to the electric circuit analysis that is not predicated upon the
"current direction" and thus avoids such inconsistencies.
