The IceCube neutrino observatory located as at the South Pole is a versatile instrument. It offers a deeper understanding of astroparticle physics through observation of neutrinos from the most extreme environments in the universe. Through observing the ubiquitous flux of atmospheric neutrinos, it also allows to investigate fundamental particle properties of the neutrinos themselves. In this presentation we will explore the rich physics program that IceCube offers, as well as some of the challenges associated with the detection of the ghost particles.
