Dr. Teresa Matias Correia (CCMAR, Faro): Fast imaging: advances in MRI, optical imaging and the role of AI

Non-invasive imaging technologies have improved our understanding of human health and disease. Recent advances in accelerated imaging, together with faster reconstruction, processing and analysis methods, have enhanced imaging accuracy and efficiency while improving subject comfort and scan tolerance. These developments also enabled dynamic studies, real-time monitoring, and quantitative analyses across a wide range of research and clinical practice, enabled real-time monitoring and quantitative analyses. In this talk, I will present some of our research on the development of accelerated imaging workflows, including AI-based approaches, with a particular focus on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and 3D optical tomography.
