Žiga Virk: Reconstruction results in topology and their applications

We will explain several results that reconstruct the homotopy type of a space using the Rips and Čech complexes. We will demonstrate how, under the appropriate tameness conditions, such results can be used to deduce the homotopy type or the homology of the limit set of a dynamical system from a dense enough sample.
