General Relativity is being tested in extreme environments by the multimessenger program. While many of the tests involve the Einstein's equations in vacuo, the complete structure of the equations with the source term are less well studied at intense field. Neutron stars and their mergers offer the densest environment to conduct those tests, but microscopic nuclear and particle physics need to provide an equation of state for the matter therein that is as accurate as possible to maximize the scientific gain from observations. Simultaneously, we would like to understand the phase diagram of strong nuclear/QCD matter in that high-density regime, much beyond what can be probed in the laboratory.
