Mitja Nedic: A characterization of Herglotz-Nevanlinna functions using positive semi-definite functions.
Abstract: Herglotz-Nevanlinna functions are holomorphic functions on the poly-upper half-plane having non-negative imaginary part. They are known to admit a powerful integral representation theorem that characterizes this class of functions in terms of a real number, a vector with non-negative entries and a positive Borel measure satisfying two conditions. In this talk, we will present, instead, a representation in terms of a specific type of positive semi-definite functions called Poisson-type functions. This will also allow us to present a multidimensional analogue of the classical Nevanlinna kernel.
