Michiel Hochstenbach (TU Eindhoven): Lessons from a computational genius

In this talk we will review some nice methods of the Dutch "computational genius" Willem Bouman, 80 years old. In February 2020, he set yet another world record (at TU Eindhoven). This will be an interactive presentation, where you will learn how to quickly multiply numbers (just writing down the answer), and to determine what day of the week a certain date is. We will also discuss his recent record, and several other techniques. Please have pen and paper ready; calculators are not allowed!
