Machine Assisted Probes of Particle Physics Beyond Standard Model

Povzetek / Abstract:

With the all the key predictions of the standard model of particle physics experimentally established, the main focus of the high energy physics research is shifting towards phenomena which could elucidate outstanding observational and theoretical puzzles in particle physics and early universe cosmology. The open-ended nature of this quest and the wealth of data being collected in modern experiments and observatories calls for novel approaches to model building and hypothesis testing. Some recent advances in this direction using concepts and tools adopted from the field of machine learning will be presented.
