Embark on a Journey into the World of Particle Accelerator Control Systems

Calling all Engineering, Computer Science, and Physics students and young professionals! Immerse yourselves in the fascinating realm of particle accelerators and discover the cutting-edge technologies that power these scientific marvels.

In this two-week event, you'll gain an in-depth understanding of the control systems that govern particle accelerators and other scientific facilities, enabling them to operate at the highest levels of precision and efficiency. Delve into the challenges and opportunities that arise in this dynamic field, and explore the potential for a rewarding career in science facilities.

Engage in immersive experiences that bring particle accelerator control systems to life. Take part in guided tours of HZB's facilities, where you'll gain firsthand insights into the practical applications of these technologies. Collaborate on a hands-on group project to apply your newfound knowledge and work together to solve real-world challenges.

Requirements:

  • Being enrolled last year of Bachelor/Master Degree in a relevant field or being a Young Professional (0-1 years exp)
  • Basic knowledge of Software Engineering/Embedded Programming
  • C/C++ and/or Python
  • Communication Protocols (TCP/UDP)
  • Hardware principles
  • Basic knowledge of Linux OS
  • Good spoken and written English
