Postdoctoral positions at University of Bologna, Italy
Dear colleagues,
I would like to inform you about the opening of two two-year post-doc positions, with the possibility of extension, at the Physics and Astronomy Department of the Bologna University. The positions are part of the project GENESIS “Searching for the primordial structures of the Universe in the heart of the Galaxy” (PI: Prof. Ferraro) funded by the Italian MUR in the FIS3 call.
The positions are open to candidates with a PhD in Astrophysics and with a documented research experience in topics related to the characterization of resolved stellar populations in dense systems. In particular, experience is required in at least one of the following research topics:

High-precision photometry and proper motion measures from high-resolution images from space or AO-assisted telescopes.

Chemical abundance determinations from high-resolution spectra

Radial velocity measures from mid/high-resolution data-cubes acquired through integral-field spectroscopy

Monte-Carlo and/or N-body simulations in collisional systems, or hydrodynamical simulations (e.g., with RAMSES), or chemical enrichment models
Deadline: Applications must be submitted by 10/04/2026 at noon (12:00 am, Italian time).
Salary: the annual gross salary is € 39.224,29.
