Graphs defined on groups
Kamilla Rekvenyi (University of manchester) kamilla.rekvenyi@manchester.ac.uk
Abstract: For any graph, we can naturally associate a group to it—specifically, the group of its automorphisms. But given a finite group, is there an equally natural way to associate a graph to it? The answer is yes! In fact, there are many interesting graphs that can be defined on groups, and their study has become a highly active area of research in finite group theory in the past few decades. In this talk, I will introduce some of these graphs, compare their properties, and discuss recent developments in the field.
