6th Workshop on Liquid Crystals for Photonics

The 6th Workshop on Liquid Crystals for Photonics 2016 (WLCP 2016) will be held from September 14th to 16th 2016 in Ljubljana, Slovenia at the Jozef Stefan Institute. We kindly invite you to contribute to the workshop as an oral or poster presenter, or to simply attend talks by multiple world experts in the field. The workshop will bring together experts working on photonics and complex optics in relation to optically anisotropic liquid crystalline materials. The core of the scientific program will consist of multiple invited talks, as well as two plenary presentations on photonics in silicon and in biological systems. Main topics of the workshop include:

• Nanostructured liquid crystalline metamaterials
• Modelling and numerical simulation techniques of LC photonic devices
• Liquid crystal lasers
• Linear and nonlinear propagation phenomena in liquid crystals
• Holography and 3D image systems
• Novel self-organized composite liquid crystal materials
• Modulated liquid crystal structures
• Design of modulated surfaces including photoalignment and photopatterning
• Liquid crystal-related biophotonics
• Light manipulation for integrated optics
• Optical trapping and manipulation with light
