Students acuire knowledge about fundamental laws of classical physics and their implications.
Knowledge and understanding:
The basigc goal of the course is to develop students’ understanding of fundamental
physics principles.
Application:
Students will be able to explain and apply basic principles in physics. The acuired knowledge is necessery for an effective participation at Physics laboratory course during the second academic year. The topics covered are examples of application of the theory, covered by other (mathematical) courses.
Reflection:
Students develop understanding that phenomena in nature are driven by a handful of abstract (mathematical) laws.
Transferable skills:
Introduction to modelling (abstraction, identification of substantial properties and conditions).
Lectures, exercises, homeworks, consultations
Written exam
Homeworks test and oral exam
Students receive two grades: one from the written exam and the other from the oral exam and homeworks.
grading: 5 (fail), 6-10 (pass) (according to the Statute of UL)
