Objectives and competences

Objectives: The main aim of the course is to extend the knowledge of general and inorganic chemistry, application of theoretical knowledge in practise, an ability to solve more difficult chemical calculations.

Competences: Safety laboratory work, preparation and individual accomplishment of chemical experiment, an ability of qualitative and quantitative interpretation of results.

Intended learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding: Practical knowledge about chemical processes and understanding of influence of experimental conditions.

Application: Planning and accomplishment of chemical processes and their qualitative and quantitative interpretation.

Reflection: An understanding of chemical processes that appear in the nature and technic.

Transferable skills: Skills for independent safety laboratory work, individual interpretation of results, use of literature and internet.

Learning and teaching methods

Seminar lectures with emphasis on application, individual practical work in the laboratory, voluntary individual calculations.
