The role of electric power systems in world development, the electric energy supply, the energy sources and energy transformations, conventional sources and alternative sources of electric energy. The parameters and features of energy sources, their principles and technologies of energy conversion.
Normal and abnormal states of electric power systems, voltage and current overloads in power systems, short circuit calculations, physical processes at short circuits between phases and to ground, calculation of short circuit currents.
Quality of electric energy, basic parameters and definitions. Transients and voltage oscillations,
Distortion of voltage shape, voltage harmonics, flicker. Indices of power supply interruptions.
