The new version of the Resource Description Framework (RDF) — RDF 1.2 — was introduced recently. One of its most notable new features is triple terms: triples that can themselves appear as components of other triples. RDF 1.2 places greater emphasis on the logical view of RDF statements and often presents the constructs of the RDF data model using the language of logic. However, the prevailing view of the RDF data model remains the type-based view, which maintains a clear separation between the schema and instance levels of representation.

The seminar will provide an overview of the RDF data model and RDF Schema.
