Considering the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, the Department of Physics as the host for your student exchange is a well-considered decision. The Physics department offers a wide variety of programs and possibilities for every physics student. Studying here is a great way to gain the knowledge, practical experience and skills you need to succeed in your career, experience student life, make new friends and feel part of our academic community.

Physics has a long tradition at the University of Ljubljana and in Slovenia - The Institute of Jozef Stefan being one prominent example. The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics comprises around 60 teaching staff and 10 PhD students.

Our faculty is located in one of Europe's greenest and safest capitals. Ljubljana is recognised for its historical heritage while being a relatively young city with a modern lifestyle. Distances between places in Slovenia are short, which makes Ljubljana a perfect base for exploring Slovenia's diverse beauty.

The language of instruction is Slovene for the 1st and 2nd cycle students. Check out the list of courses for the 2nd cycle in English. All courses for 3rd cycle students are in English (PhD).

Incoming students may study at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics through the following agreements.

The Erasmus+ coordinator is doc. dr. Andrej Studen. Please get in touch with him regarding general questions about the study's educational, professional and scientific aspects.

The administrative support for international students is Nina Rogelja. Please get in touch with her for paperwork issues.
