Melvin Vaupel, Inferring topological properties of neural representations

It has been suggested that neural computations may be understood as iterative transformations of representations. In my talk I want to review how methods from applied topology have successfully been used for the identification and characterization of such representations from electrophysiological recordings of neural activity. Then I will explain some of the current challenges with this approach and outline a possible solution.
