Daniel Pellicer: Realizations of abstract polytopes

 

Given an abstract polytope it is natural to try to find a geometric realization for it, for example, in the Euclidean n-space for some n. On the other hand, given a geometric space it may be interesting to determine all abstract polytopes with certain symmetry conditions admitting realizations in that space. We shall discuss what has been done in recent years in these two directions.
