    Dynamics at microscopic interfaces

Two characteristic features distinguish  microscopic active components from their macroscopic analogues: i) the microscopic active components operate in an environment confined by interfaces and ii) they move in heterogeneous environment that fluctuates in time. As a consequence they move according to hydrodynamic rules that are significantly different from the rules for macroscopic motors. In the current talk we will explore such differences by using active and driven colloidal model systems.
