Ripples in Flavour Space — Unlocking Nature’s Secrets with Antimatter
Prof. Marco Gersabeck

The seminar will present the so called “Intensity Frontier” approach to searches for unknown physics processes and particles beyond the experimentally well tested Standard Model of particle interactions. The limitations of the Standard Model are nowadays well known and efforts in particle physics are focused on searches for unknown processes that are responsible for its deficiencies. We will discuss results from the dedicated flavour physics experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN: LHCb. Its results from extremely precise measurements with the world largest dataset of decays matter and antimatter particles include several hints for departures from the Standard Model as well as discoveries of new states of matter. Expectations for the future will be discussed as well.
