The Experimental Particle Physics group at Jožef Stefan
Institute/University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, is recruiting PhD students,
to start in October 2018. The position leads to a PhD in Physics at
University of Ljubljana.
The Ljubljana ATLAS group of 12 members at Jožef Stefan Institute has a
longstanding experience in development of radiation hard silicon and
diamond detectors. The group is involved in development of sensors for
High Granularity Timing Detector which will be installed in ATLAS for
the high luminosity upgrade as well as in development of diamond- based
Beam Condition Monitor for the same upgrade. The successful candidate
will develop and use test set-ups, will participate in irradiation
campaigns and beam tests. She/he will work on analysis and
interpretation of the measurements and will also take shifts for ATLAS
Collaboration at CERN.
The position becomes available on October 1, 2019. Applicants must hold a
Master's degree (or equivalent) in Physics or in a similar field, or expect
to hold such a degree by Sep 15, 2019. Applicants should send a single
