Introduction to meteorology: Solved problems

In introductory courses in meteorology, problem-solving exercises represent an important aspect that makes the theoretical concepts clearer and more practically useful. The authors have compiled the collection of problems starting from the ones previously gathered by Prof. Zdravko Petkovšek, Prof. Dr. Jože Rakovec, Assistant Prof. Dr. Tomaž Vrhovec, Neva Pristov, MSc, and Dr. Gregor Gregorić. We have organized these problems and equipped them with solutions. We have also added many new problems so that the booklet in its current form adequately covers most of the content introduced in the introductory meteorology lectures. Solutions are provided for all problems, with detailed explanations shown for some of them. The booklet was first published in Slovenian language in 2007, later underwent a reprint, and in 2017, an English version was published in electronic format. In 2024, we thoroughly reviewed the booklets in both languages, corrected some errors, made numerous improvements to the text of the problems, and removed some poorly set and outdated ones. The revised booklets in electronic format are published in open access under a CC BY license, which allows for free use and sharing of the material.
