Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking (KDT JU): new Calls open
On 7 February 2023, the Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking (KDT JU) opened three new Calls under its annual Work Programme for 2023. The KDT JU is an institutionalised public-private partnership that continues the research, development and innovation activities of the ECSEL JU in the field of electronic components and systems. Members of the KDT JU are the EU (represented by the European Commission), three industry associations (EPoSS, AENEAS, Inside Industry Association) and currently around 30 EU member states and countries associated to Horizon Europe. The current Calls for proposals are partly single-stage, partly two-stage and they include the following Focus Topics:

Second Call: HORIZON-KDT-JU-2022-2 RIA
- HORIZON-KDT-JU-2023-2-RIA-Topic-1- Global call according to SRIA 2023 (RIA)
- HORIZON-KDT-JU-2023-2-RIA - Focus Topic 2- Focus Topic on Hardware abstraction layer for a European Vehicle Operating System (RIA)
Third Call: HORIZON-KDT-JU-2022-3-CSA-IA
- HORIZON-KDT-JU-2023-3-IA-Topic-1-Improving the global demand supply forecast of the semiconductor supply chain (IA)
- HORIZON-KDT-JU-2023-3-CSA-Topic-2- Pan-European network for Advanced Packaging made in Europe (CSA)
- HORIZON-KDT-JU-2023-3-CSA-Topic-3- Coordination of the European software-defined vehicle platform (CSA)
The total budget for all topics includes an EU share of € 317.7 million, supplemented by contributions from the countries participating in the KDT JU amounting to € 192.85 million (including € 32 million from Germany). The two-stage topics have the submission deadline of 3 May 2023 for the first stage ("Project Outline" (PO)) and 19 September 2023 for the second stage ("Full Project Proposal" (FPP)).The corresponding deadline for single-stage topics is 3 May 2023 and all applications for the above mentioned Calls should be performed via the Funding and Tenders Portal.
